‘Off the beaten trek’

Katy Scott Equine Coaching

Katy is currently the only registered and certified Centered Riding Level Two Instructor in Ireland, also a BHS AI and a HSI Level One Coach.
Katy specialises in rider body awareness and getting the fundamental basics right to improve the horses way of going.
The techniques Katy uses help promote suppleness, stability and clearer aids which makes riding more comfortable for you and your horse.
Centered Riding is an innovative way of expressing classical principles of riding, using body awareness, centering and imagery. Centred Riding is based on a knowledge of human and horse anatomy, balance, movement and on understanding how the mind affects the body and how both affect the horse. Centered Riding teaches you how to help your body what you need to do in order to ride your best. The better centered and balanced you are on your horse the easier it is for them to carry you and do what you ask. If you can achieve the correct basics the hard stuff becomes easier.
Katy has been teaching Centered Riding for over 10 years, she coaches all levels of horse and riders and at any discipline. She has a passion for developing a connection and a partnership between horse and rider. As a keen and competitive showjumper but with a love of classical riding, Katy understands the importance of a supple and balanced horse. Whether its flat work or jumping it is important that the rider can move in sync with their horse, not only for horse welfare but for safety as well.
